Callicroft Primary Academy

Physical Education

At Callicroft we encourage all children to follow a healthy lifestyle and participate in a range of physical activity each week.

All children within Callicroft Primary Academy will be taught skills for gymnastics, dance, athletics, football, rugby and netball (High 5 netball) and swimming. Some sessions are led by a qualified sports or dance coach.

We have excellent grounds that facilitate many of these activities including: two grass 5 a-side football pitches, rounders pitches, athletic tracks, two netball courts and two school halls.

We encourage all children to participate in after school sports activities and have a termly list available below of events we are attending.

Training in clubs often leads to competing in a tournament with other local schools. We work closely with Patchway Community College and some other local schools.

Our whole school yearly sports morning is usually held during Term 5. We actively encourage parents to support their child in this very exciting day, when all points won contribute to their house team. At Callicroft the house teams are:

AVON, WYE, FROME or SEVERN
